English Moral Story:OUR VALUE

Image
A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, “Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air. “Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. “Now who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air. “My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happe...

The Weight of the Glass,,,(A Moral English Story)

Image
# The Weight of the Glass Twenty years ago, when Angel and I were just undergrads in college, our psychology professor taught us a lesson we’ve never forgotten. On the last day of class before graduation, she walked up on stage to teach one final lesson, which she called “a vital lesson on the power of perspective and mindset.” As she raised a glass of water over her head, everyone expected her to mention the typical “glass half empty or glass half full” metaphor. Instead, with a smile on her face, our professor asked, “How heavy is this glass of water I’m holding?” Students shouted out answers ranging from a couple of ounces to a couple of pounds. After a few moments of fielding answers and nodding her head, she replied, “From my perspective, the absolute weight of this glass is irrelevant. It all depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute or two, it’s fairly light. If I hold it for an hour straight, its weight might make my arm ache. If I hold it for a day straight...

Sad And Emotional Story In English(This story is going to stir your emotions, touch your heart and water up your eyes)

Image
This story is going to stir your emotions, touch your heart and water up your eyes. It was late in the afternoon when i arrived in Molave crossing. Moving out from the bus, the weather was hot, the sun was still high. For about eight years i finally stepped once again on the beautiful land of my province. I took a deep breath and felt the air of a summer wind. Just a few meters away was an old waiting shed, a terminal for motorcycle or popularly known as "habal-habal". I saw two grown-up men, perhaps they were the riders waiting for passengers. With my bag on the right hand and a pail of biscuit in my left hand, i walked towards them. "Good afternoon sir, can you take me to Mankilam?", i asked. "Yes ma'am, for only Php250 i will bring you there.", answered by the first in line rider. After i gave the said amount to the rider he tied the pail at the far end of his motorcycle. Then he boarded on the motorcycle and put my bag at the forepart, exactly o...

Sad And True Love Story In English

Image
Life back then was so simple. She got those priorities in line, study, graduate, pass the board exam, get a stable job that she loves, and help her family, that's it. She never included crushes and most of all, to fall in love. She also made a promise to someone so dear to her (her papa) not to get into a relationship until she could help her sibs. Everything was well-planned. She thought she could get through her life without that stuff. Not until their path with Kwatro, crossed. They were both students that time when they knew each other through a religious gathering. He became the center of the curvature hahaha, just kidding! I mean, center of her attention because he got that amazingly-golden voice, no wonder he was the vocalist. He was a complete package - had a big and kind heart plus a voice that could melt a girl's heart. Slowly, they became friends, just a typical kind of friendship. They smiled at each other if they happened to meet inside or outside the campus,...

English Story:Tell Your Parents,,,

Image
Story #24 Have you ever told your parents how grateful you are for having them in your life? Richness cannot be only determined by money but also by the love and support from a family. It was a rainy midyear vacation when Lanie, finally on her way home, with joyful tears, hurriedly stepped off from a jeep she's riding on. Lanie was away from her family for 10 months long because she studied in a city which was quite far from her province. And she couldn't afford to go home even monthly because of the expensive transportation fee. So, she just waited until the second semester ended. Now, she couldn't wait any longer to see them, she missed them so much! Carrying her heavy bag on her right hand and less than 10 pcs of mangoes on her left hand, she smiled widely while walking along the muddy road towards their nipa hut. She never minded being soaked in the rain as long as she was now few meters away to home. Stepping on their yard with so much excitement made her heart ...

Image
Seeing your lover getting married in front of your eyes... (Writer's name unrevealed) - Someone you loved - This is a real life story. A story that was told by my sister. Yes, it is her story and here it goes. It was midnight when my co-worker called and said that she was getting married. She was so happy and excited. She told me that the wedding would be next month and I will be her Maid of Honor. I smiled and agreed. Good for her. After 1 month..... The wedding day, I sighed deeply before I started walking towards the altar. I was so nervous. I was shaking that I was just staring at my heels. Silently praying that I wouldn't fall. I really hated crowded places and those cameras made me even more nervous. I was about to turn left when I heard someone calling my name. I just shrugged it off and continued walking. I remained looking at my heels until a very familiar song was played. That song reminded me of someone. I looked up to see the bride but immediately stop...

Being And Breathing : Beautiful English Story

Image
One warm evening many years ago, after spending nearly every waking minute with "Angel" for eight straight days, I knew that I had to tell her just one thing. So late at night, just before she fell asleep, I whispered it in her ear. She smiled – the kind of smile that makes me smile back –and she said: “When I’m seventy-five and I think about my life and what it was like to be young, I hope that I can remember this very moment.” A few seconds later she closed her eyes and fell asleep. The room was peaceful – almost silent. All I could hear was the soft purr of her breathing. I stayed awake thinking about the time we’d spent together and all the choices in our lives that made this moment possible. And at some point, I realized that it didn’t matter what we’d done or where we’d gone. Nor did the future hold any significance. All that mattered was the serenity of the moment; just being with her and breathing with her. # The moral: We must not allow the clock, the cal...
